(Quick Notes)

Happy Friday everyone!

Today I want to talk about the last antidote to stress that Robert M. Sapolsky talks about in Why Zebras don’t get Ulcers.

Throughout the week, I have discussed the other three things: outlet for frustration, social support, and predictability.

The fourth, and final, thing Robert identifies is the feeling of control.

As a life coach, I am constantly helping my clients take control over things in their lives; control is essential for life coaching. It is important for you to look at what you can and cannot control in your life, and focus on the things that you can.

The mindset in which you approach action and control in your life is crucial. This goes back to Hope Theory, which states that if we believe we can accomplish what we set out to do, our motivation will increase and we will be more resilient. In essence, we will feel like we are more in control.

With this in mind, my question to you is; how can you take something that you really want to do and break it down into a smaller piece that you feel you can control the outcome of?
