So Many Seeds
I was walking through the Portland Saturday Market, feeling heavy about something related to business.
I was thinking about how many times I’ve failed. I was thinking about how many decisions I made that I now question or didn’t go my way.
I got a cup of tea and went to sit down on a bench when I saw a pile of elm tree seeds patiently waiting, hoping to land in a fertile spot.
There were thousands of seeds.
They were stuck to the concrete.
Then I looked up and saw the canopy of beautiful trees.
And somehow everything, the business, the heaviness was wiped out with the joy of seeing those huge trees.
There was even a certain beauty in the seeds, knowing that if even one of them gets lucky enough to make a tree, it was all worth it.
