Daily Insight Video

I just finished one of my best training sessions ever! It was with my ALC 2.0 class, and it was all about humor. We were discussing how to be funny on purpose during a coaching call, and it is definitely no small task. It was very challenging.

What we found was something very insightful: when you push yourself during a training course and play around with the skills, it gives your client a chance to be authentic. When we give ourselves permission to be bad at something or make a mistake, it is also an invitation to be authentic.

This authenticity is incredibly valuable, not only for you as a coach, but for your clients as well.

mistakes lead to authenticity

Sometimes trying to be good at things can get in the way of being authentic. When we allow ourselves to be bad at something, things often feel more real and genuine.

So my question to you is:

How is trying to be good getting in the way of your authenticity?

or

How does allowing yourself to be good or bad at something allow you to be more authentic?
